Serbian Army aids drought-stricken areas with water supply

The Serbian Army is actively engaged in providing essential water supply to households in areas affected by a prolonged drought. At the request of local authorities, soldiers are working to replenish wells and water reservoirs in Bujanovac, Veliki Gradište, and Kruševac.

Specifically, efforts are focused on supplying water to Donje Novo Selo near Bujanovac, Veliki Šiljegovac near Kruševac, and Ram near Veliki Gradište. The army's water tank units will remain deployed in these locations until hydrological conditions stabilize and water supply is secured.

Beyond water provision, the army's engineering units are ensuring the safety and maintenance of pontoon bridges across the Great Morava River near Svilajnac and the Danube River. Military medical teams are also participating in the "Military Doctor in the Village" initiative, supporting the Ministry of Health's efforts to provide healthcare in rural communities.

Additionally, Serbian Army forces that recently participated in firefighting efforts in the Deliblatska Peščara are on standby in case the fires reignite. The military's multifaceted involvement highlights its role in supporting civilian needs during environmental and infrastructural challenges.
