Serbian striker Dušan Vlahović joins Turkish club Beşiktaş

Serbian footballer Dušan Vlahović has officially joined Turkish giant Beşiktaş, the club announced on its website. The 26-year-old striker signed a three-year deal, which will see him earn an average of 7.5 million euros net per season.

Vlahović experienced significant injury problems during his last season with Juventus. He scored ten goals in 23 appearances across all competitions for the Turin-based club. Since joining Juventus from Fiorentina for 85 million euros in January 2022, he has netted 68 goals in 168 matches for the club. His overall Serie A goal tally stands at 94 across both clubs.

Internationally, Vlahović debuted for Serbia in October 2020 and has since scored 16 goals in 41 matches. His career began at OFK Beograd before moving to Partizan in 2014, and then to Fiorentina in 2018.

The tall forward was greeted by a large crowd of Beşiktaş fans in Istanbul on Wednesday evening. After completing his medical examinations, he signed the three-year contract, which will net him a total of 22.5 million euros. Beşiktaş, who have not won the Turkish league title since the 2020-21 season, have also strengthened their squad this summer with the signings of former Arsenal star Leandro Trossard for 18 million euros, Orkan Kökcü for 30 million euros, and several other players. Vlahović joined Istanbul without a transfer fee.
