Serbs discuss cheapest summer vacation spots: Croatia mentioned, ranked by users

Serbian travelers are actively discussing budget-friendly summer vacation destinations for 2026, with a particular focus on affordability and smart planning. A discussion on the social media platform Reddit, initiated with the question "How much does your vacation cost this year?", has revealed a wide range of travel plans and budgets.

Italy, especially Sicily, appears to be a top contender for those seeking value. One user proudly shared that a ten-day trip for two to Sicily, including flights and accommodation, was organized for 740 euros, averaging just 37 euros per person daily. This highlights the effectiveness of early booking and utilizing low-cost carriers, strategies echoed by many participants in the discussion.

Turkey also features as an attractive option. One Redditor mentioned an 11-night stay in Kuşadası for 450 euros in August, booked independently. The key, they explained, lies in monitoring Air Serbia's promotions in February and booking hotels through online platforms, which proves significantly cheaper than package deals.

Greece continues to be a favored destination, though prices show considerable variation. While some found packages for two to Kassandra for 450 euros (13 nights with transport), others reported spending up to 5,500 euros for a 14-day family vacation in Sithonia. Egypt is also popular, with all-inclusive packages for two costing around 2,500 to 2,800 euros for ten nights.

However, the conversation also touched upon exceptionally high prices. One user cited a seven-day stay in Dubrovnik costing 6,400 euros, prompting a witty reply: "For that price, you could go to the Caribbean and back." Another comment about a 14,000 euro vacation in Paralija drew mockery and jokes, with one user quipping, "For 14,000 in Paralija, Sakis will sing for you every night." Conversely, some will enjoy free vacations thanks to family with seaside homes, while others openly admitted, "I'm not going anywhere, so I'm not spending anything. I can't afford it."
