Serious Accident: 44-Year-Old Severely Injured While Clearing Wooden Plank from Road

A serious accident occurred in Herrenberg, Germany, when a poorly secured wooden plank fell from a truck, leading to multiple injuries. The incident began when the plank dislodged from the flatbed truck during transit. The 44-year-old driver of the truck stopped his vehicle to remove the fallen plank from the roadway.

As the truck driver was clearing the obstruction, a 19-year-old driver, attempting to overtake the stationary truck, failed to notice the 44-year-old standing on the road. The younger driver struck the truck driver head-on with his vehicle. Subsequently, his car collided sideways with an oncoming vehicle driven by an 82-year-old man.

The 44-year-old truck driver sustained severe injuries and was transported to a hospital by emergency services. The 82-year-old driver, his passenger, the 19-year-old driver, and his 16-year-old passenger all suffered minor injuries. All four individuals with minor injuries were also taken to nearby hospitals by emergency medical personnel.
