Seth Rogen recounted a peculiar on-set experience during the filming of "The Invitation," where his character was engaged in an intimate scene with Penélope Cruz.

The really funny thing is that we were told to improvise.

Rogen explained on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" that the director encouraged improvisation, leading to an unexpected reaction from him. Instead of delivering seductive lines, Rogen found himself repeatedly saying "Thank you" and apologizing. He described it as an involuntary response, reflecting his own personality, which he humorously characterized as "all I feel is gratitude."

The actor admitted that the presence of Cruz, who is married to Javier Bardem, added a layer of self-consciousness to the scene. Rogen, married to Lauren Miller, confessed that this detail was on his mind during filming, though he lightheartedly dismissed any potential awkwardness.

Further adding to the scene's unique development, Rogen revealed that Cruz herself suggested incorporating a sensual element by starting to sing a Sade song. Rogen also contributed his own physical comedy, attempting to remove his pants in a clumsy manner. The film, also starring Olivia Wilde and Edward Norton, was set to be released on August 6.
