Seven-year-old boy dies after being hit by school bus in Kluang

A tragic accident in Kluang, Malaysia, claimed the life of a seven-year-old boy when he was struck by the school bus he had just exited. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Taman Sri Lalang as the student, Muhammad Umar Mohd Faaiz, was heading home after attending religious school.

According to Kluang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh, initial investigations indicate the boy had disembarked and was walking towards his house. The 36-year-old female bus driver proceeded forward and turned left, reportedly without noticing the child nearby, leading to the collision.

The boy sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver was detained for drug and alcohol screening and is receiving medical attention at Hospital Enche Besar Hajjah Khalsom due to apparent trauma from witnessing the event. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
