Seven-year-old distracted by phone falls onto Prague metro tracks, passenger saves him moments before train arrives

A seven-year-old boy fell onto the tracks at a Prague metro station after becoming so focused on his mobile phone that he did not notice the platform had ended. A train was approaching the station at the time.

A passenger waiting for the metro saw the child fall and immediately climbed down onto the tracks. Other people at the station joined the rescue effort and helped lift the boy back onto the platform shortly before the train arrived.

The emergency stop button at the edge of the platform also played a crucial role. After someone pressed it, the approaching metro train stopped. Police arrived soon afterward, and paramedics took charge of the boy.

The child suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital. Police later advised children and their parents to pay close attention when using mobile phones or headphones in metro areas and near railway tracks.
