Seventeen's Seungkwan accepted into military band, to enlist this year

Boo Seung-kwan, a popular member of the K-pop group Seventeen, will soon be fulfilling his mandatory military service after being accepted into the military band. News outlets reported on June 10 that Seung-kwan successfully applied for the position and is expected to enlist later this year.

Seung-kwan's enlistment will make him the seventh member of Seventeen to undertake his military duties, following Jeonghan, Wonwoo, Woozi, Hoshi, Vernon, and Dokyeom. Jeonghan has already completed his service, while Hoshi and Woozi are currently serving in the army. Vernon is set to enlist on June 20, and Dokyeom on September 8.

Seventeen, known for hits like "Adore U," "Mansae," and "Super," recently renewed their contracts with Pledis Entertainment, marking a significant milestone as they approach their 11th anniversary. The group has been actively promoting with various members fulfilling their service obligations, a period often referred to as 'military hiatus' or '군백기' in Korean entertainment.

Beyond his group activities, Seung-kwan is recognized for his exceptional vocal talent as the main vocalist of Seventeen and his participation in the sub-unit BSS (BooSeokSoon). He has also made a name for himself in variety shows and is slated to appear in a new season of the TVING show 'Great Escape.'
