Seventh Night of Attacks on Iran: U.S. Reportedly Moves More Fighter Jets to Middle East

The conflict between the United States and Iran over the Strait of Hormuz escalated as U.S. forces carried out their seventh consecutive night of airstrikes against Iranian military targets. The U.S. Central Command stated the strikes hit Iranian surveillance facilities, underground weapons storage, and other military infrastructure.

Iranian state media, however, described the targets as civilian infrastructure. Following the U.S. strikes, Tehran launched retaliatory attacks, reportedly hitting targets in Kuwait and Bahrain. Explosions were also reported in Saudi Arabia and Jordan, countries that host U.S. military bases, raising concerns about a wider regional conflict.

Mohsen Rezaei, an advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader, warned that if U.S. attacks continue for another two or three days, Iran would enter a "phase of comprehensive offensive and destructive operations" and would no longer limit itself to retaliatory measures. The Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. military is expanding its targets within Iran and is moving fighter jets from Europe to the Middle East.
