Shavkat Mirziyoyev Congratulates Kyrgyzstan on Independence Day

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and the people of Kyrgyzstan on the country’s Independence Day.

In his message, Mirziyoyev praised reforms carried out under Japarov’s leadership, saying they had helped produce strong economic and social growth. He also said Kyrgyz initiatives had received international recognition.

The Uzbek president described relations between the two countries as entering a new historical phase, at the level of allied relations. He linked that assessment to recent talks and agreements reached during Japarov’s state visit to the Kyrgyz city of Cholpon-Ata.

Mirziyoyev called an informal consultative meeting of Central Asian and Azerbaijani leaders an important step for regional cooperation. He said he expected the 25th anniversary summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the sixth World Nomad Games to take place at a high level.

He ended by wishing Japarov health, energy and success in government, and the Kyrgyz people peace, prosperity and continued progress.
