Vladimir Putin congratulates Kyrgyz people on Independence Day

Vladimir Putin used Kyrgyzstan’s Independence Day to emphasize the close relationship between Moscow and Bishkek, congratulating President Sadyr Japarov and the Kyrgyz people in a message published by the Kyrgyz presidential administration.

Putin said Kyrgyzstan was successfully addressing social and economic tasks under Japarov’s leadership while strengthening its international position. He presented the bilateral relationship as one that was developing dynamically in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance.

The Russian president also highlighted cooperation through several regional organizations, including the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. He said Russia and Kyrgyzstan would continue close work on bilateral, regional and international issues.

Putin said he was confident that an upcoming meeting in Bishkek would further expand mutually beneficial cooperation and help reinforce security and stability across Eurasia. He ended the message by wishing Japarov good health and success in state service, and the Kyrgyz people peace and prosperity.
