Shawn Yue divorces 'belt heiress,' Mayday song 'Chun Kei and Chi Ming' becomes 'prophecy song'

Hong Kong actor Shawn Yue, 44, announced his divorce from his Taiwanese wife, Wang Tangyun, heir to a prominent belt empire, on June 20, ending their nearly nine-year marriage. Yue stated in his announcement that he "respects and blesses each other's life choices."

However, the news quickly sparked discussion among netizens who pointed out the uncanny resemblance between the divorce and the lyrics of Mayday's 2007 hit song, "Chun Kei and Chi Ming." Many fans called the song a "prophecy song," noting that several lines seemed to perfectly describe Yue and Wang's situation.

Netizens specifically highlighted lyrics such as "It's best we stop here, you no longer have feelings for me," which they felt mirrored Yue's calm statement about the couple reaching a mutual understanding. Another line, "Chun Kei no longer listens," was also cited, as fans observed that Wang and Yue had not interacted on social media for some time.
