Sheikh Al-Yousef backs sustainable approach to global soccer development

Kuwait Football Association (KFA) President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef has backed FIFA President Gianni Infantino's decision to discontinue the FIFA Forward Enterprise project. Al-Yousef stated that any decisions concerning FIFA's development programs must place the interests of national associations first and ensure continued support for their strategic plans.

"Sheikh Al-Yousef said Gianni Infantino's decision to end plans for the FIFA Forward Enterprise project reflects a responsible approach focused on protecting the needs of FIFA's member associations and maintaining the effectiveness of development initiatives benefiting soccer worldwide," the KFA statement read.

Al-Yousef emphasized that while the KFA supports projects aimed at improving global soccer, their success hinges on meeting national associations' requirements and adding value without negatively impacting current development programs. He praised the FIFA Forward program for its role in enhancing infrastructure, governance, and technical capabilities within associations, stressing the importance of program continuity for football's future growth.

Kuwait's commitment to global football development was reaffirmed, with Al-Yousef expressing confidence in Infantino's leadership and support for initiatives that expand the game, create more opportunities, and serve the interests of football associations worldwide.
