Sheinbaum confirms BTS concert in Mexico for 2027 after presidential meeting

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum celebrated a meeting with K-pop superstars BTS at the National Palace, confirming the group's return to Mexico in 2027. The announcement follows a video shared by the band showcasing their visit to the historic site.

Sheinbaum recalled sending a letter to the South Korean president to request BTS's return, citing overwhelming demand and fan disappointment from their previous concerts. "They liked Mexico so much they decided to return," she stated.

The president highlighted that BTS's production team contacted the federal government, specifically the Ministry of Culture, to arrange the visit. The group agreed to a brief meeting with their Mexican fans at the National Palace. Sheinbaum praised the artists as "very simple young people" who were impressed by the palace, taking photos throughout.

Sheinbaum also credited the band's international success to their positive messages, noting their significant popularity in Mexico and globally. She shared that a particularly emotional moment occurred when the band members saw hundreds of fans gathered outside the National Palace.
