Sheinbaum Urges Military to Exercise Authority Prudently, Serve the Nation

President Claudia Sheinbaum has called on Mexico's Armed Forces to temper their authority with prudence, humility, and sensitivity. Speaking at the closing and opening ceremony of the Military Education System in Zapopan, Jalisco, she stressed that the military uniform is not a symbol of privilege but a commitment to serving the people and the nation.

To those graduating, never forget that authority must be exercised with prudence, with humility; that force must always be accompanied by sensitivity, that the uniform does not represent privileges, but service to the people and the nation.

Sheinbaum addressed graduating members, reminding them that true strength lies not just in operational capacity but in the principles guiding their decisions. "The true strength is not only in what a person knows how to do, but in the principles, in the conviction of how they decide to do it," she stated. She emphasized that professional training and discipline must be accompanied by honesty, solidarity, respect, and loyalty.

The President asserted that the Military Education System has the responsibility to train not only skilled professionals like engineers, doctors, and pilots but also "good human beings." She underscored the importance of placing the nation's interest above personal gain and urged graduates to maintain continuous preparation and serve as examples to their families and society.

Reaffirming the Mexican Armed Forces' popular origins, Sheinbaum linked the Army to the country's historical struggles for independence, sovereignty, and institutional defense.
