Shelton dethrones Fritz to claim Stuttgart crown

Despite committing 28 unforced errors, Shelton strategically attacked Fritz's serve when opportunities arose. Fritz, who served 14 aces and hit 40 winners, could not overcome Shelton's crucial breaks. This marks Shelton's third career victory over Fritz, improving their head-to-head record to 3-1.

Shelton's triumph in Germany adds to his earlier season successes in Munich and another hard-court final against Fritz in Dallas. His performance on grass signals a strong start to the season on the surface.
