Shelton to face Nakashima in Montreal Masters 1000 final

The men's singles final of the Masters 1000 tournament in Montreal, Canada, is set to feature an all-American showdown between Ben Shelton and Brandon Nakashima. The event, the sixth Masters 1000 of the season, will see these two players compete for the trophy on Thursday.

Brandon Nakashima, currently ranked 31st in the ATP rankings, secured his spot in the final by defeating Spain's Rafael Jódar 7-6 (3), 6-4. This marks Nakashima's best performance in a Masters 1000 event, surpassing his previous best of reaching the third round in Shanghai in 2023. He has also reached finals in ATP 250 events and semifinals in ATP 500 tournaments this year.

Defending champion Ben Shelton, ranked 10th, advanced to the final by defeating his compatriot Learner Tien 6-2, 6-3. Shelton aims to defend his title from last year, when he beat Russia's Karen Khachanov in the final. A victory would mark his second Masters 1000 title and eighth career title overall.

The final match is scheduled for Thursday at 9 PM Argentinian time and will be played at Stade IGA in Montreal. Viewers can watch the match live on ESPN and exclusively on the streaming platform Disney+ Premium. The tournament concludes on August 13.
