Shocking scenes in Peristeri: Gang of 40 minors attacks children with clubs and knives

Shocking scenes unfolded in Peristeri, Greece, on Sunday afternoon when a gang of around 40 minors, armed with knives, clubs, and brass knuckles, unleashed violence in Makrigianni Square. Police have arrested seven individuals in connection with the incident.

Video footage captured the group of minors moving menacingly, wielding various weapons including clubs, knives, planks, and helmets. They were reportedly heard shouting threats to kill local youths. A young woman attempted to intervene to prevent injuries but was assaulted by one of the aggressors.

The commotion alerted neighbors and passersby, who immediately contacted the police. As authorities arrived, the minors scattered into the narrow streets to evade capture. Approximately 15 individuals reportedly fled towards Nemea Street and remain at large.

During searches, police found a brass knuckle on one of the youths. A kitchen knife, a flick knife, a firecracker with nails, and a pair of motorcycle gloves were discovered hidden under a car. Of the roughly 40 minors involved, police apprehended seven: five Greeks aged 14 to 17 and two Albanians aged 16 and 17. Charges related to illegal weapon possession have been filed against them.
