Short circuit paralyzes Hamburg S-Bahn line S1, causing hours-long closure

Commuters faced significant travel disruptions in Hamburg on Friday morning due to a short circuit affecting the S-Bahn line S1. The incident led to an approximately two-and-a-half-hour suspension of train services on the section between the Airport, Ohlsdorf, and Barmbek stations.

The short circuit reportedly occurred in the power supply system for the conductor rail. Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters observed smoke emanating from the affected area. However, by the time emergency services reached the location, the flames associated with the short circuit had already subsided.
