Shuilin sanitation department near school to be relocated with over NT$76 million investment

The Shuilin Township Public Office's sanitation department in Yunlin County, Taiwan, is set to move from its long-standing location adjacent to local schools and a community center. The decision comes after years of complaints from residents and concerns over the facility's proximity to Shuishalin Elementary School, Shuilin Junior High School, and a senior activity center.

For the past 24 years, the sanitation department has operated next to these educational and community facilities. Residents have frequently reported instances of individuals illegally dumping trash near the school entrances, forcing students to endure unpleasant odors during their commutes. This situation has been a persistent issue for the local community.

The township office has allocated over NT$76 million for the relocation project. The move aims to resolve the ongoing waste disposal problems and improve the environment for students and the elderly in the area. The new location has been identified, and the project is moving forward to address the community's concerns.
