Šibenik Mayor Orders Removal of Unauthorized Toilets Near Anti-Fascist Monument

Šibenik Mayor Željko Burić has intervened to prevent what he deemed a desecration of historical memory, ordering the removal of portable toilets erected without authorization. The toilets were placed near the monument dedicated to Rade Končar and 25 anti-fascist fighters executed in the city.

The unauthorized installation was reportedly carried out by the team of singer Marko Perković Thompson. Mayor Burić's directive aimed to uphold the sanctity of the memorial site, which honors individuals who fought against fascism. The incident highlights a clash over the use and respect of public historical spaces.
