Şile Municipality Deputy Mayor Sacit Terzi resigns from CHP

Sacit Terzi, who was elected as the Deputy Mayor of Şile Municipality following the removal of Özgür Kabadayı due to a "corruption" investigation, has announced his resignation from the Republican People's Party (CHP).

I have concluded that I cannot provide beneficial services to the people of Şile under the CHP umbrella, and therefore, I respectfully announce my resignation from the Republican People's Party to the public.

In a statement shared on social media, Terzi declared, "I have concluded that I cannot provide beneficial services to the people of Şile under the CHP umbrella, and therefore, I respectfully announce my resignation from the Republican People's Party to the public."

Terzi articulated his belief that politics should be about unity, not division, and about producing results rather than engaging in polemics. He stressed that his decision was not driven by personal grievances but by a deep consideration for Şile's future and his responsibility to serve its residents more effectively. He affirmed his ongoing dedication to working for the development, peace, and future of Şile, regardless of his future role or title.

For me, politics is about uniting, not dividing; reconciling, not clashing; producing works and services, not generating polemics.

He further stated that he has witnessed significant changes in the expectations of the country, Şile, and the nation, believing that politics must adapt with a solution-oriented, inclusive, constructive, and service-focused approach. Terzi reiterated that his primary goal remains to serve Şile, the nation, and the country to the best of his ability.

This decision is not the result of any resentment, anger, or personal expectation. On the contrary, it is the natural outcome of long deliberations, conscientious accounting, and the responsibility to serve our Şile more effectively.
