Sinaloa Cartel Suspects Arrested With Arsenal in Tractor-Trailer in Mazatlán

Federal and state security forces apprehended two individuals believed to be part of the Sinaloa Cartel in the port city of Mazatlán, Sinaloa. The operation, a result of surveillance and ground reconnaissance, led to the discovery of a tractor-trailer loaded with a significant arsenal.

According to the Secretariat of National Defense, the detainees were found with 19 long guns, 1,131 magazines, 15,480 rounds of ammunition, and various tactical gear. The seizure occurred during coordinated patrols involving the National Guard, Mexican Army, Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, Secretariat of the Navy, Attorney General's Office, and the State Preventive Police.

The arrested individuals and the confiscated weapons and ammunition have been transferred to the Attorney General's Office in Mazatlán. Authorities stated the arrest was conducted with strict adherence to the rule of law and respect for human rights, aiming to maintain public order and peace in the region.
