The mother of popular South Korean singer Jang Yoon-jeong has admitted to investment fraud charges and faces a request for a 1.5-year prison sentence. Ms. Yuk appeared in court tearfully, confessing to her actions and apologizing to those she defrauded and her family.

Prosecutors detailed that Ms. Yuk allegedly solicited investments from acquaintances between September 2024 and August 2025, promising returns. She is accused of taking a total of 31 million won (approximately $23,000 USD) across three separate instances, leveraging her daughter's celebrity status to build trust. However, she failed to repay the promised funds.
