Singer Sleepy's work dried up after wife rejected joint variety show offers

South Korean singer Sleepy shared that his professional opportunities dwindled after his wife, Kim Na-hyun, turned down multiple invitations for them to appear together on television programs. Sleepy disclosed this during a YouTube video released on his channel, where the couple discussed their married life and experiences with in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

Sleepy explained that numerous programs approached them shortly after their marriage announcement, but his wife rejected them all. Kim Na-hyun cited feeling "burdened" by the offers, as she was not accustomed to the entertainment industry. Sleepy expressed understanding for her position, acknowledging that she was not a personality who typically appeared on variety shows.

"Even famous programs contacted us, but after rejecting them all, there were no places that wanted me anymore. All my work stopped," Sleepy confessed. He recalled that it took several years before they finally participated in a show, the SBS program "Same Bed, Different Dreams." Kim also shared that it was a "big decision" for her to agree to appear on the show.

The couple also opened up about their decision to pursue IVF. Kim revealed that before their first child, she experienced a miscarriage. At the time, in her early thirties, her ovarian age was found to be nearly that of a woman in her forties. A doctor recommended IVF, warning that she could enter menopause within five years, a revelation that deeply shocked her. Sleepy and Kim married in August 2022, and they have one son and one daughter.
