Single mom Ji Yeon-soo's current work at a gomtang restaurant: 'It's not my store'

South Korean broadcast personality Ji Yeon-soo has shared an update on her life as a single mother, revealing she is working as an employee at a gomtang (Korean traditional soup) restaurant. She detailed her daily routine, which includes serving between 100 to 150 bowls of soup per day.

Addressing speculation that she might be using the restaurant for self-promotion, Yeon-soo clarified through a video on her YouTube channel, 'Yeonsuropta of Ji Yeon-soo,' that the establishment is not her own. "It's not my store, and I am just an employee with no connection to its operation," she stated, drawing a clear line.

Yeon-soo also opened up about past difficulties, recounting an instance where she was dismissed from a job simply because she was a known public figure. This experience has led her to refrain from revealing her past as a broadcaster when seeking employment. "I have to work to make a living, so I don't reveal that I was a broadcaster wherever I go," she confessed.

Reflecting on her current situation, Yeon-soo emphasized the importance of focusing on the present rather than dwelling on past glories. "If you live trapped in the glamorous past, you cannot develop. You must live in the present," she asserted. Her motivation for taking on the restaurant job stems from her desire to provide well for her son, Min-soo, mentioning that she wanted to be able to buy him Korean beef gomtang.
