Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner has announced his withdrawal from the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Cincinnati due to persistent right knee issues. The decision was confirmed by the tournament on Sunday, August 9.

"After consulting with my doctors and my team, I have to announce that I must withdraw from the Masters 1000 Cincinnati tournament," Sinner stated in a release. He explained that his right knee has been bothering him, and despite intensive work with his medical team, he must accept that he is not yet prepared for competitive play.

Sinner's withdrawal adds to a notable absence in the men's singles draw, as Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz has also pulled out of the Cincinnati tournament due to injury.
