Sisi stresses there is no alternative to a just settlement of the Palestinian issue

The Oyo State Government has joined a unique prayer session organized by the Ibadan Labala Masquerades Group, seeking the safe return of individuals abducted in the Oriire Local Government Area. The spiritual exercise took place at the Labala shrine in Ibadan, the state capital.

The essence is to offer traditional prayers and sacrifices on behalf of the state for the safe return of the abductees and the restoration of peace and security in the state under the leadership of Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde.

Prince Dotun Oyelade, the Commissioner for Information, stated that the prayers and sacrifices were offered on behalf of the state for the abductees' safe reunion with their families and for the restoration of peace and security under Governor Seyi Makinde's leadership. The event was approved by Chief Ojeyemi Ajayi, the President of the Labala Masquerades Group Worldwide.

Thank you for partnering with the government in this challenging moment in our state. Your efforts will not be in vain. We believe that the prayers and sacrifices offered today will yield positive results, and that the abductees will soon reunite with their families.

Mr. Kunle Agboola, representing the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, praised the masquerade group for their compassion, patriotism, and concern. He noted that while various groups have held prayer sessions, this initiative demonstrated a strong partnership with the government in tackling societal issues. Agboola expressed confidence that the prayers would yield positive results.

Many groups have organised prayers concerning this incident, but I sincerely appreciate your invitation to the government to participate in this unique spiritual exercise.

Chief Oosakola Oladejo, speaking for the group, explained that a private sacrifice had already been performed for the abductees. The subsequent prayer walk, which traversed several locations in Ibadan, aimed to invoke divine intervention, ward off death, and pray for an end to kidnapping and insecurity in Oyo State and Nigeria. The event concluded with prayers led by spiritual leaders of the Labala Masquerades Group, followed by a prayer walk.

He added that the prayer walk organised by the group across selected locations in Ibadan was aimed at seeking divine intervention for the victims’ safety, warding off death, and praying for an end to kidnapping and insecurity in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
