Six Arrested in Ratmalana with Weapons and Cash

A special search operation at a house in Ratmalana, Sri Lanka, led to the arrest of six individuals and the seizure of a cache of weapons and cash. The house, marked with a sign warning "Beware of the snake Supun," was raided by the Galkissa headquarters police.

Authorities confiscated three swords, three knives, a dagger, a firearm, and approximately 300,000 Sri Lankan rupees in cash, along with eight mobile phones. The operation was initiated after officers from the Galkissa headquarters police's special motorcycle unit arrested an individual in the Ratmalana area with 1000mg of ice methamphetamine.

This initial arrest led to information about the location where the drugs were purchased, prompting the raid on the house. The six arrested suspects are reportedly residents of Ratmalana, Nawalapitiya, and Eheliyagoda, with ages ranging from 22 to 51 years old.

Further investigations are expected, as the suspects are scheduled to be questioned under detention orders. The Galkissa headquarters police are leading the ongoing investigation into the matter.
