Six Convicted in Hidalgo for Arms and Drug Trafficking, Sentenced to Over 11 Years

A court in Hidalgo, Mexico, has sentenced six individuals to 11 years and two months in prison for charges including illegal possession of firearms, ammunition, and narcotics. The Federal Public Ministry successfully proved their responsibility for various crimes following their arrest in 2025.

The arrests occurred in the municipality of Tula after a citizen alerted authorities to the presence of armed men. A police operation ensued, leading to the capture of the six suspects. During the intervention, law enforcement seized a substantial arsenal, including 14 firearms, 1,092 rounds of ammunition, 46 magazines, 56 bags of marijuana, and 59 bags of methamphetamine hydrochloride.

Prosecutors from the Attorney General's Office (FGR) presented evidence that convinced a judge of the defendants' guilt. The charges included possession of firearms, ammunition, and magazines exclusively for military use, as well as drug dealing offenses. One defendant, Alan "N," received a harsher sentence of 12 years and six months due to aggravating factors determined by the judge.

The FGR stated that the evidence presented was sufficient to secure a conviction for these serious offenses. The sentences reflect the gravity of the crimes, which involved illegal arms trafficking and drug distribution within the region.
