Six dead, Proton X50 collides with lorry

A tragic accident in Sungai Petani, Malaysia, has claimed the lives of six individuals and left a three-year-old girl in critical condition. The victims were traveling in a Proton X50 SUV when it collided head-on with a 10-ton soil-laden lorry.

The incident occurred around 3:45 PM in Kampung Baru, Pinang Tunggal. The deceased have been identified as Ahmad Shafiq Ahmad Shukri, 27; Nora Mhd. Husin, 55; Jamaliah Sannusi, 27; Ahmad Fahim Ahmad Shukri, 21; a seven-year-old boy; and a baby approximately six months old. The injured child, Aulia Sofea Ahmad Shafiq, was rushed to the hospital for urgent treatment.

Upon arrival, the team found that the accident involved a soil-laden lorry and a Proton X50 which were believed to have collided head-on.

The Tikam Batu Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call shortly after the collision. Upon arrival, rescue teams found the two vehicles involved in the crash. Firefighters utilized specialized equipment to extricate the victims trapped inside the Proton X50. The lorry driver reportedly escaped the incident without any injuries.

Following the operation to recover the victims, their bodies were handed over to the police for further procedures. The scene also required cleanup of accident debris. Police are currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the cause of the fatal collision.
