SK Chairman Meets Nvidia CEO Ahead of AI Summit to Solidify 'AI Alliance'

SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won met with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang for a dinner meeting in Woodside, California, ahead of the AI Summit hosted by South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol. The meeting, attended by executives from SK Hynix and SK Telecom, focused on strengthening cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

The discussions centered on concrete collaboration plans, including the joint development of next-generation memory semiconductors tailored for Nvidia's AI roadmap and the establishment of an AI factory in South Korea. This follows a previous meeting between Chey and Huang in South Korea last month, where they explored broader AI infrastructure partnerships.

Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang was accompanied by his eldest daughter, Madison Huang, who serves as Senior Director of Product Marketing for Nvidia Omniverse and Robotics. The presence of key personnel from both SK affiliates and Nvidia underscored the strategic importance of the discussions.

The meeting signals a deepening of the 'AI alliance' between SK Group and Nvidia. SK Hynix is poised to play a crucial role in supplying advanced memory solutions essential for AI advancements, while SK Telecom is collaborating with Nvidia on building an AI factory targeted for operation next year.
