Skopje police: Man drove with 3.29 per mille alcohol, caused collision

Skopje police have arrested a 34-year-old resident after he caused a traffic accident while driving with an extremely high blood alcohol level. The incident highlights the dangers of drunk driving in the city.

According to the Ministry of Interior of North Macedonia, the man, identified by initials I.A.L., was driving his "Matiz" vehicle when he collided with a "Honda" in a street in the center of the capital. The accident prompted a police investigation at the scene.

During the investigation, officers determined that I.A.L. was heavily intoxicated, with a blood alcohol content of 3.29 per mille. This level is considered critically high and significantly impairs driving ability. The public prosecutor was informed of the incident.

The vehicle involved in the collision has been seized. Authorities stated that a formal report will be filed against the 34-year-old once the case is fully documented, indicating potential legal consequences for his actions.
