Slavonian police officer dies in severe traffic accident

A tragic traffic accident in Kujnik, Croatia, has resulted in the death of Mario Pjerabon, a 53-year-old criminal police officer with the Požega-Slavonia Police Administration. Pjerabon, who previously served as the head of the Pakrac Police Station, was reportedly on his way home from work when the incident occurred overnight.

According to initial reports, Pjerabon lost control of his vehicle for reasons yet to be determined, causing it to violently collide with a concrete driveway. The force of the impact completely destroyed the car, as evidenced by photographs released by the local fire department.

While the exact circumstances remain under investigation, unofficial sources suggest that fatigue may have been a contributing factor, with the possibility that the officer fell asleep while driving. Official findings will be released following the completion of the police investigation.

Firefighters from DVD Brestovac and the Požega-Slavonia County Fire Brigade responded to the scene early Friday morning. They expressed their sincere condolences to the family of the deceased officer. The accident occurred on the Požega–Pakrac road in the village of Kujnik.
