Slovenia: 19-year-old detained after brawl, assaults at event

A 19-year-old man faces detention after a violent brawl erupted at an event near Markovci early Sunday morning, leading to police intervention. According to the Maribor Police Administration, the man interfered with police efforts to control the situation, ignoring warnings to step aside.

Authorities allege the 19-year-old provoked attendees and engaged in a physical altercation with unknown individuals. He is also accused of pushing a security guard and injuring a police officer during his apprehension. While being transported, he reportedly damaged the interior of a police vehicle and later attempted to obstruct police work and injure another officer.

During the incident, a minor was also detained for violating public order and disregarding security guards' instructions. Police investigations revealed that the 19-year-old allegedly struck the minor, causing a severe injury. He is also suspected of severely injuring another passerby who attempted to intervene in a subsequent fight.

The 19-year-old has a prior record for violent offenses. He has been charged with obstructing an official act or revenge against an official, assault, and two counts of causing severe bodily harm. The minor faces charges related to private security and public order violations. A district court judge ordered the 19-year-old's detention following his appearance.
