Slovenia Seeks Patient Advocates in Maribor and Murska Sobota

Slovenia's Ministry of Health is seeking candidates for unpaid patient advocate positions in Maribor and Murska Sobota. The deadline for submitting nominations is September 18. These advocates play a crucial role in ensuring patient rights are upheld within the healthcare system.

To be considered, candidates must be Slovenian citizens, proficient in the official language, and not have any felony convictions. They require at least a university-level education and a minimum of ten years of professional experience. This experience should be in fields such as law, healthcare, consumer protection, or patient advocacy. The ministry emphasizes the need for individuals who are trustworthy, possess strong social and communication skills, and command professional and moral respect.

Nominations can be submitted by non-governmental organizations and associations active in healthcare or consumer protection, as well as regional councils of the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia and municipal councils. These proposals are to be sent to the Ministry of Health in Ljubljana or via its official email address. The ministry will then compile a list of eligible candidates to be presented to the government for final appointment.
