Slovenian Mountain Biker Vita Movrin Achieves Career-Best Result in Andorra

Slovenian mountain biker Vita Movrin secured her best career result at the Andorra World Cup, finishing 16th in the demanding short track cross-country event. The race, lasting only twenty minutes, saw very tight competition, making Movrin's achievement particularly noteworthy.

This 16th-place finish provides Movrin with a significant advantage, earning her a more favorable starting position for Sunday's main Olympic cross-country race. She expressed immense satisfaction with the outcome, stating it was one of her primary goals for the season.

Despite challenging weather conditions, including rain just before and during the race, Movrin delivered an exceptional performance. She battled against top international competitors, finishing only two seconds behind Evie Richards, a former world champion. Among the U23 category, Maruša Tereza Šerkezi finished 14th, also showing promising form after a brief break.

The event was won by Sweden's Jenny Rissveds, while Sina Frei, a strong contender this year, finished in eighth place. Movrin, the national champion, is currently competing without a team jersey but is affiliated with Sunn Factory Racing.

The weather again played tricks on us – it rained heavily an hour before the start, and it was wet during the race too. I managed to secure 16th place, my best result in short track cross-country, which gives me the second row start on Sunday. I am very happy, this was one of my main goals for the season, so I am very satisfied and can't wait for Sunday.
