Slovenian teenager Naja Poje Mihelič joins Napoli for Serie A season

Slovenian national team player Naja Poje Mihelič is set to join Italian Serie A club Napoli for the upcoming season. The 19-year-old midfielder's move comes after she transferred from Sassuolo to Inter Milan, who then immediately loaned her to the Naples-based club to gain experience in Italy's elite league.

Mihelič spent the last three seasons with Sassuolo, where her strong performances earned her a transfer to one of Italy's major clubs. Despite her youth, she has already made ten appearances in the top Italian championship and has established herself in the Slovenian senior national team.

Upon arriving in Naples, Mihelič shared her positive initial impressions. "The first few days were special. I received a very warm welcome at the club, and from the beginning, there's a great dedication from everyone involved with Napoli," she stated to the club's media. "I look forward to getting to know the city, the people, and the club. On the field, I will give my all to achieve the best possible results together." She has joined the city that still celebrates the legacy of Diego Maradona. Mihelič's contract with Inter Milan is valid until June 2029.
