Small bus crashes into German highway construction site, damaging nine vehicles

A construction site on Germany's A7 highway became the scene of a significant accident late Friday, when a small bus collided with the site, causing damage to nine vehicles. The crash led to a temporary full closure of the highway in the direction of Würzburg, lasting nearly an hour, according to police reports.

The incident began when the small bus entered the construction zone near a lane narrowing, damaging several warning barriers. Police stated the bus came into conflict with a motorhome also in the area, remaining on the closed lane where the collision occurred. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, a police spokesperson confirmed.

The left of the three lanes is closed for the duration of the construction work at this point.

Flying debris from the collision damaged seven other vehicles traveling behind the initial crash. Nine vehicles were involved in total, with seven deemed inoperable due to severe damage. The estimated cost of the damages is around 100,000 euros.
