Small Plane Crashes into German Home, Killing One

A small aircraft crashed into a residential home in Ganderkesee, Lower Saxony, Germany, on Saturday, resulting in at least one fatality. Emergency services, including firefighters and police, were dispatched to the scene after the plane lost altitude for unknown reasons and impacted a house in a residential area near Bremen.

Rescue and recovery efforts were described as complex and lasted for several hours. Firefighters used a ladder truck to search the roof for occupants, but the deceased individual could not be immediately extracted from the wreckage. The identity of the person killed in the crash is currently unclear. Authorities are also searching for a second individual who was reportedly on board the aircraft.

Fortunately, the residents of the house were not at home when the plane crashed into their roof. No other injuries were reported. The aircraft is believed to have taken off from Bremen shortly before the incident. Investigations into the cause of the crash will be conducted in coordination with the Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (BFU).

As a precautionary measure, residents within a 100-meter radius of the crash site were evacuated, though police stated there was no danger to the public. The power supply to the street was temporarily interrupted for safety reasons. The airspace over the affected area was also closed for the duration of the operation.
