Small Polish village becomes summer sensation with affordable prices

Karwia, a modest Polish village nestled on the Baltic Sea coast, transforms into a bustling summer resort, drawing an astonishing 30,000 to 50,000 tourists daily during its peak season. The village, situated in the Pomeranian region, is home to only 987 permanent residents but swells dramatically in July and August.

Bartoš Agata, the village head, explained that the daily tourist numbers are estimated by calculating the total capacity of the village's accommodations, which include numerous guesthouses, campsites, and apartments. "Even the smallest guesthouse has 30–50 beds," he noted, highlighting the extensive lodging options available.

Agata also observed a shift in tourist behavior. Visitors are now opting for shorter stays, typically three to five days, a change from the longer week or two-week vacations previously common. This trend, reported by "turystyka.wp.pl," suggests a different kind of summer getaway is emerging in Karwia.
