'Chief Detective 1958' is described as an "action drama of the father universe." So Ji-sub plays the titular Chief Detective Kim, a father driven to extreme measures to find his missing daughter. He detailed the action sequences, noting they will incorporate hand-to-hand combat, knife fights, gunfights, car chases, and explosions, all centered around the process of avenging those connected to his daughter.

The drama is set to premiere on May 26. It is expected to deliver a thrilling narrative focused on a father's desperate fight to protect and reclaim his child.
