Social Security Fund investigates internal records after insured person finds fake contributions

The Social Security Fund (CSS) has launched an internal investigation following the discovery of discrepancies in an insured individual's employment records. Julissa Morales reported finding records on the "Mi Retiro Seguro" platform indicating she was employed by the National Assembly in 2023, earning a salary of $4,933.30, though she maintains she has always worked in the private sector.

The CSS stated that the "Mi Retiro Seguro" platform, introduced a year ago, is designed to enhance transparency by allowing insured individuals to verify their contribution payments in real-time. The fund highlighted that this tool has been instrumental in identifying inconsistencies, enabling timely reviews and accurate benefit calculations.

The CSS is cooperating with relevant authorities to ascertain responsibility for the situation. The institution indicated it will pursue legal action if evidence of criminal activity emerges. It also urged all insured individuals to regularly check their records via "Mi Caja Digital" and report any anomalies, emphasizing the platform's purpose in ensuring data integrity and protecting contributors' rights.
