Three arrested in Panama after allegedly robbing victims of over $250,000 at gunpoint

Authorities in Panama have arrested three men in connection with a brazen daylight robbery that left two victims over $250,000 poorer. The incident occurred on Saturday, August 22, when the victims were traveling on the Frangipani road.

According to the investigation, the assailants struck the victims' vehicle with a blunt object and then used a firearm to intimidate them. The robbers seized a briefcase containing the substantial sum, reportedly proceeds from a business selling perfumes and clothing. The victims were reportedly beaten during the assault.

Following the robbery, police units apprehended three suspects in the Bella Vista district. A search of their vehicle led to the recovery of the entire amount reported stolen. The Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office charged the men with aggravated robbery.

A judge ordered the provisional detention of the three accused, citing the serious nature of the crime. The investigation is ongoing to fully ascertain the extent of the suspects' involvement and to clarify all details surrounding the theft.
