Sohar-Al Buraimi road bridges project 24% complete

Oman's Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology is advancing a critical infrastructure project to build five bridges along the Sohar-Al Buraimi road. This route is essential for connecting the Al Buraimi Governorate with the rest of the Sultanate.

The initiative has achieved a 24% completion rate and carries a total cost exceeding OMR6 million. The new bridges are being constructed to replace existing structures that are over 50 years old and have shown signs of damage, ensuring greater safety for road users. A thorough assessment of the structural integrity of the older bridges informed this decision.

The project's primary objectives are to enhance overall road safety and establish a sustainable road network. By upgrading this key artery, the ministry aims to preserve the efficiency of the nation's logistics connectivity system, facilitating smoother and more reliable transportation of goods and people.
