Sokoto FRSC zonal commander retires after impactful tenure

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Sokoto is bidding farewell to ACM Shoba Akande, the Zonal Commanding Officer for Zone RS10, as he retires from service. Akande's tenure, which began in April 2026, concluded on August 24, 2026, coinciding with his birthday.

During a tribute, CC Sani Umar of the RS10 Headquarters described Akande as a disciplined and responsible leader whose short time in the zone left a significant impression. Umar highlighted that Akande's leadership demonstrated that impact, not just the length of service, defines effectiveness.

Leadership is not measured by the number of years spent in a position, but by the quality of impact made within the time available.

Akande is credited with bringing experience, responsibility, guidance, and a human touch to his leadership, earning the respect of his subordinates. His retirement is viewed as both a celebration of his service and a difficult farewell due to the limited time personnel had to work under his command.

Umar encouraged Akande to embrace retirement as a new chapter for rest, family, and personal fulfillment. He emphasized that retirement is a well-deserved transition from official duties to a period of reflection and renewed purpose, praying for Akande's continued good health and peace.
