Sokoto gov gifts 2,410 pilgrims N450,000 each in Saudi Arabia

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has provided significant financial support to pilgrims from his state participating in the Hajj in Saudi Arabia. A total of 2,410 pilgrims each received 1,000 Saudi Riyals, equivalent to about N450,000, as a 'Sallah package'. The announcement was made by the Sokoto State Amirul Hajj, Muhammad Mai Gari Dingyadi, who stated the gesture is intended to ease pilgrims' expenses during their stay and as they prepare to return home.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu has approved the donation of 1,000 Saudi Riyals to each pilgrim from Sokoto State as a Sallah package to support them during their stay and return journey.

Dingyadi praised the pilgrims for their exemplary behavior and adherence to Saudi Arabian laws throughout the Hajj period. He expressed pride in their conduct, noting they served as worthy ambassadors for Sokoto State. He urged them to maintain this discipline and continue to represent the state positively until the pilgrimage concludes.

We are proud of the exemplary behaviour displayed by Sokoto pilgrims. None of them was involved in any violation of Saudi laws, and they have conducted themselves as worthy ambassadors of our state.

The Amirul Hajj also reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Aliyu's administration to the welfare of Sokoto citizens. He encouraged the pilgrims to offer prayers for peace, unity, and progress in Sokoto State and Nigeria. Specifically, he asked for prayers for the success of Governor Aliyu's administration and for lasting peace and security across the country.
