Sokoto Senator Decries Renewed Bandit Attacks, Seeks Urgent Security Intervention

Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, representing Sokoto South, has voiced grave concern over the resurgence of bandit and terrorist attacks in parts of Sokoto State. He noted that these renewed assaults have resulted in numerous deaths, kidnappings, and the displacement of entire communities, exacerbating the humanitarian and security crisis.

Tambuwal extended his condolences to the people of Kebbe Local Government Area and the family of Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Hussaini Balarabe, who was killed during a confrontation with bandits. The senator described the officer's death as deeply painful and unacceptable, emphasizing the significant sacrifices made by security personnel to protect citizens.

Our people in Shagari and other affected communities should not be left to face these criminal elements alone. They deserve adequate protection, and we must do everything possible to restore their confidence and enable them to return to their communities, farms, and livelihoods without fear.

He also conveyed sympathies to residents of Shagari Local Government Area, where recent terrorist attacks have instilled fear, leading to abductions and livestock rustling. Tambuwal stressed that communities in Shagari, Sabon Birni, and other affected areas deserve adequate protection to restore their confidence and enable their return to normal life without fear.
