Sokuluk Hippodrome Slated for Major Reconstruction

The Sokuluk ayil okmotu in Kyrgyzstan is planning a major reconstruction of its hippodrome, which is currently in a state of disrepair. Rustam Ishtybaev, head of the Sokuluk ayil okmotu, told 24.kg that negotiations and documentation are underway for the project. "Our plans are to completely reconstruct the hippodrome and create a modern sports complex that meets all necessary requirements," Ishtybaev stated. He aims to make it one of the best hippodromes, providing excellent conditions for competitions and events, while also improving the adjacent infrastructure.

The hippodrome reconstruction is part of a comprehensive plan to develop the area. Local authorities prioritize improving infrastructure, creating comfortable living conditions, promoting sports, and enhancing the territory. "Our task is to consistently improve infrastructure, create comfortable conditions for residents, develop sports, improve the territory, and make our ayil aimak modern, convenient, and attractive for living," Ishtybaev emphasized.

Ishtybaev also highlighted that developing sports infrastructure is a key focus. The construction of a sports hall in the village of Saz is nearing completion, with funding allocated at 21.5 million soms. Additionally, a football field costing 3.4 million soms is under construction in Sokuluk village. The local budget's revenue has exceeded targets, with 91.1 million soms collected in the first half of 2026, a 146.7 percent fulfillment rate.
