Soldier's Remains Returned Home After Nearly 60 Years

After nearly 60 years on the battlefield, the remains of fallen soldier Ka Tơr Tiên have been located and brought home for burial. The military command of Khánh Hòa province successfully recovered the remains, which were then interred at the Ninh Thuận Martyrs' Cemetery on August 5, 2026.

Ka Tơr Tiên, born in 1949, was a deputy squad leader in the Anh Dũng District Command. He died on March 17, 1967, during combat operations and was initially buried in Tà Nôi village, Anh Dũng commune. The recovery effort was part of "Operation 500 Days and Nights," initiated by the Khánh Hòa Provincial Military Command.

The operation involved close coordination with local authorities, relevant agencies, and the soldier's family. Ka Tơr Toàn, Tiên's younger brother, played a crucial role by providing vital information and guiding the search teams. The recovery process, conducted from August 1 to 4, included site surveys and demining operations to ensure safety before the exhumation.

The solemn ceremony for the repatriation of Tiên's remains took place on the morning of August 5. Military personnel carefully excavated the site, preserving any discovered artifacts. The event was deeply emotional for those present, marking the culmination of a decades-long wait for the family. The repatriation signifies the military's commitment to finding and honoring fallen soldiers, embodying the national values of remembrance and gratitude.
